Here are 5 of my favorite things from the month of November! Enjoy!
- Black Leather Jacket:
This is a great staple piece to have in every wardrobe. A high-quality leather jacket with a classic design will last years and serve you faithfully through many “What should I wear?” conundrums. I have been on the hunt for one for a while, but my lucked changed on Black Friday. I purchased this jacket from ALLSAINTS at 30% off. Also, I purchased mine in a US 2, if you need sizing reference.
- Travel Neck Pillow: I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy a travel neck pillow. I chose this one from Cabeau. Although it was a little pricier than most travel pillows, this one is memory foam. I figured, go big or go home (which is kind of an ironic statement since I was on my way back home. So I ended up going big and going home). I have always passed up on travel pillows because there are so many other things I would rather spend my money on. That mentality changed after preparing to board my flight home from New York with only one hour of sleep. I figured with all of the traveling I am doing, now is the best time to invest. I slept takeoff to landing on both of my flights from New York to California, and by the time I was done traveling, my neck felt great! This pillow is a little big and bulky, but I highly recommend it. Definitely bringing it with me to Dallas!
- Purging My Belongings: After finishing this book in one day, I felt so inspired to go through my room and purge everything. I did as Kondo suggested and held up each item of mine and asked, “does this bring me joy?” and if the answer was yes, then it stayed. If not, “Bye, Felicia.” I purged everything, even my sock and underwear drawers (TMI? Sorry, you gotta do it. Before you know it you have been wearing the same undies for a year. That is a long life for a pair of panties). Before I knew it, I had gone through all of my clothing, accessories, books, and makeup and had 2 bags ready to be donated. I stood back and looked at my closet admiringly. I then wondered how many shirts I had. From what I saw, it looked like about 30 (which is crazy because that is one shirt for every day of the month! And that isn’t even including my sleep shirts, exercise tops, jackets or sweaters). Once I actually counted them, I was shocked to find I owed 50 tops! Fifty! And some how I still manage to look at my closet and feel like I have nothing to wear…Well, as I had already purged and determined that each article gave me joy, I decided that 50 was as good a number as any. From here on out, I will try to commit myself to a one-in, one-out rule for my tops. You should count how many tops you actually have, you might be surprised by the number like I was!
- New York in the Fall:

- Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter: With this dry winter weather, my skin can look a little lack-luster. This is my fake-it-’til-I-make-it to summer miracle weapon. I have been using this product for years and it has never let me down. I prefer the liquid version, over the poured or powder, as it can really melt into your skin and gives the most natural look. The color I use is Pearl, but their range of 5 colors will easily suit all skin tones. This product truly does make your skin glow.
I hope you enjoyed reading about some of the things that brought me happiness this past November!
