Quitting Corporate

IMG_2989Leaving my corporate job wasn’t easy. Here is an open letter to my friends, family, coworkers and Target as to why I left.

Since the day of my 19th birthday, I have worked for Target. At just 20 years old, Target handed me the Master key to a store and a set of handcuffs. Target taught me to make smart decisions, understanding that my choice would change the course of a person’s life. Target taught me to lead teams of over 100 people during high-pressure times. But most importantly, Target taught me to trust myself. Target brought into my life a deep sense of self-assured confidence. Target brought into my life some of my best friends. Target brought into my life a relationship. Target has given me so much, and I have given Target so much in return. I have given Target four years of holidays without my family. October 12th, 2015 will be my last day with Target. One week after that, I will be moving back to LA, and I will be able to finally celebrate the holidays with my family. I am so excited to see what this phase of my life will bring.
