Moving Day LA 2015

Over the weekend I was able to participate in something very near and dear to my heart: Moving Day LA 2015! Moving Day LA is an annual 5K walk that supports Parkinson’s Disease research and awareness!

Since I was 14, my father has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease (PD). That is almost 10 years now!

This is the second year my family has participated in Moving Day LA. Last year, my dad’s team had the most dollars donated and my dad was awarded the honor of cutting the ribbon and leading the walk! This year, my dad instead opted to run the photo booth (since he is a multi-Pulitzer Prize winning photographer, it was a natural fit). My mom and I volunteered with him!

It was a beautiful day in Long Beach, CA, where the walk took place! Participants walked the 5K around the harbor –some stopping for ice cream or snow cones along the way! The event raised over $70,000 for PD research! SO AMAZING!
